Cleaned up and honed two of the razors my daughter gave me for my birthday.

An Oxford warranted from Germany, and a Blue Steel from Eden and Co, also from Germany.
I reblued the blue steel,

and realize the heel needs some adjusting but wanted to see how these cleaned up without removing them from their scales. Both seem to be bone, or natural material and I didn't want to damage them in the re and re.
The Oxford has a very noticeable knife like bevel to it, that I presume to be original and my new bevel, made with one layer of tape, is quite sharp. Never seen a double bevel Like that on any of my other old blades.

Look forward to trying them out before I revisit the polishing wheels.
Cheers..

Substance ( below) has the right of it but..there are now a few others stores of similar enough name to confuse a search engine if you do a search.
Engine46 came through with this link for similar materials:

On my Jonathan Crooks FBU blade! The first two are before & the other two are now while I'm sanding on it. It's gonna take some time to make it purdy!

I'll try to take closer pictures, but I think on this one (unlike the Rodger), several thin pieces of MOP have been boiled and glued (what kind of glue ?) till it makes a large and thick piece of shell, then worked and polished.
I don't know how they did it, however it could be a clue in order to make some new.
