Thanked: 250Twhite--Mom used ground all spice and I remember it being quite potent so that's why only 1/4 teaspoon per batch. Her homemade bay rum has a refreshing citrus scent to it from the orange extract. It's the only aftershave my Dad would ever use.

Guys, please keep in mind that how long herbs and spices have been Pre-Ground will effect how potent they are. If you fresh crack or grind the Allspice it will be Much more potent than Any Store Bought Pre-Ground.
To an small extent the same applies to the Cinnamon Sticks and the Bay Leaves, the smaller the pieces the more surface area to release the oils. With that said if you use Fresh Bay Leaves you'll need about 3 Times more as drying concentrates the flavors.
Just a little fyi.
Yes I'll be making this After Shave, Nothing like something Vintage and Heirloom!
Benz, thank you for sharing a Family Treasure! :Last edited by cudarunner; 12-06-2016 at 12:37 AM. Reason: Corrected the amount of Fresh Bay Leaves
Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Some excellent work happening in this thread lately! Rick, the scales look very nice indeed, great lines and paired nicely with the shape of the razor. Outback that's almost like a brand new box, looking good and will make a nice little home for that pair of W&Bs. I've been trying to find some shop time but it's hard to come by these days. Cleaning up a couple razors and getting ready to shape some honey horn for scales, just got the blanks stuck together. Also making (attempting) a couple brush handles (sans lathe) but I shared that in the "brush makers alcove" I guess so I'll leave it over there. Waiting for knots and giving the handles thin coats of tru-oil. Nice work gents!

Thanked: 4206Bad Dremel, bad.
Trying to save some original PUMA skins for a friend that the previous owner burned up with a Dremel trying to clean the blade in position.
No before shots sadly, and a bit more to go, but think they will be OK.
Still need to smooth out the transition some. But with little files these things take time..
Cheers.
Lol just saw my Dremel in every picture. Never used it on this,, honest..."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."
