HO! You guys are KILLING me!

A few out there are better than some. The ones which are closer to virtual perfection have had lots of strop laid to them, having been honed years ago.

From the eBay pics I was thinking I'd do a full restoration, but it's in amazing shape with a nice patina. I'm gonna scrub it down, hit it with some steel wool and call it good. Some light rust between the scales and some small spots here and there, but nothing major. It came in the original box and I really don't think it's seen much daylight since it was made. The Bakelite scales don't have any oxidation or a single scratch on them. What I thought Was a good deal at $25 shipped turned out to be a steal. So I guess technically this is something that I'm working on, but only for about five minutes.Attachment 251982

Thanks, Mike! I am happy you are enjoying that! It IS a close-shaver. Hard to see a Wosty blade like that? I think an old expert regrind. One of a kind?
Aluminum scales get cold these days! Gotta rub em in-hand a bit so you can feel some warmth.

Don't have a blade picked out for these yet. I cleaned up a couple sets of Bakelite scales too. Nice to have them there and ready when I need them.

    I love this thread.
    So much going on.
Cool scales BeJay. I look at them often but I'm yet to buy any.
I've also been looking at a lot of aluminum ones lately. Some sold the other day cheap enough that even my wife sighed.
Keep up the good work gentlemen.

It's black/brown paint and sharpie. I've tried different paints in the past but I've always had the best results with fine tip sharpies. You've got to do all your polishing first, then clean them very well. I find that the color seems more durable after several hours of drying.

Really nice touch ups. Would not have thought sharpie. How's the durability of colour or do you seal them after ink somehow?
