I made mine from a cardboard box, and a white plastic trash bag.

Crude, but works great.

My light box is like Mikes, cardboard box frame, but I opted for using fluorescent light diffuser pieces instead of garbage bags for the light filters. Restores some rigidity to the frame after all the material is removed and still softens the light perfectly.
As mikes pic shows, great results to be had with little investment, aside from time.

As you can see from my last post and pics, i just use the cellphone. But im going to go and get a few things today and make a light box. Hoping to keep it small enough to put away somewhere. Maybe when i make the box ill shoot those pics again. Although then you will be able to see my flaws. Got to remember that. When selling, no light box. Ha. Kidding.
I had this Joseph Allen in one of my drawers and it wasn't going to be much work to clean it up. The pivot was in need of a good cleaning so I decided to unpin, clean, repin... easy... but I broke the scales working the (bent) pivot pin out :gaah: No huge loss, they were that old black plasticoid stuff, pretty brittle at this point. So, I made some new scales for it out of acrylic, did a light cleaning on the blade and cleaned the pivot area real good, then put 'er back together. Now I like the look of these scales better than the black and I was able to reuse the lead wedge too. Next is bevel set and honing.
These Joseph Allen razors seem fairly common and I can't recall hearing anyone going nuts about them. I've never used one but will give this one a try. I figure, it's Sheffield, it's bound to be good.

Nice work on that one Tuzi.
Thats a very nice color on those scales. I like red but dark red is better IMO.
Here is my first attempt at a light box pic. Got a ways to go before its ready and the wife things I need to get rid of the green and go with white.
So opinions?

Still taken with the phone as thats all I got.
Nice job Tuzi.
I like the shape and colour of those scales.
The Non XLLs are a great little razor. I made a 7 day set out of them in ebony a few years back.

Should enjoy that one immensely.:beer1:
Go with white for most pics, but certain colors work better in showing details. I've also held a piece of white construction paper in front of the opening to direct more light in.
