I'm gonna keep the Henckels scales for a future blade (maybe someone else will need it??? Anyone, Bueller, Bueller, Bueller..) and I'm going to go through my old horn scales to see what up can find. Thanks for the idea!

Enough of them come with busted pivots! That's the shorty set!

Size: 37.6 KBpurchased three Hoffritz in 1973...this one was damaged several years later. Just recently started learning to hone and repaired this one. Shaving chin and under nose is about the best use.

Oh yeah that's a shorty now! I see some broken blades on the Bay, sometimes with A Lot, sometimes alone, sometimes really cheap, sometimes hilariously expensive for a broken blade! I imagine many would be thrown away and the scales only salvaged...

This is a rso shorty. Brought it for my first razor before knowing better and ground it down on the hones trying to get it to hold a edge. Had 1 piece wooden scales so when I cut them back I made a lead wedge for it gave the blade a quick ploish after completely dulling it and now is my 4yr old sons first razor to shave with dad. Unfortunately have shown him my current restoration of a Bengall cast steel and the finish is no longer to his standards and it looks like it will see a few more hours work to meet his exacting needs.

That blade came with a strop and the webbing component had pleather backing which is now his strop and an old synth body shop brush I had lying around compete his kit. I have 2 bowls so he uses 1 and I let him choose the lather he wanted. Did a full 3 pass shave first time with me. Was only the other weekend he was stoked my shave suffered for the constant distraction but wouldn't have changed a thing. He is keen for round 2.
