Spent most of the day going from working on my motorcycle to getting sanding marks and defects out of the Bruno razor I just got. I had to hit it with 60 grit just to start getting some of the crossways marks out of it now I have to start moving up to get it to a mirror finish. I have an idea for a one piece set of scales for it but that is later. That joker is blood thirsty, it bit me twice.

Oh hell, Brother. Goofy piston relief things are the least of my worries. That is nothing til it is all back together! Water pump locked, timing belt broke, lunched a pile of the 32 valves
Gonna finish honing this contraption tomorrow and hopefully post an SOTD with it Sunday.
Fix some junk, willya guys?Last edited by sharptonn; 08-22-2015 at 03:22 AM.

Thanked: 4206"Can't sit idle" My mantra exactly Mike.
Powdered sunlight or tide laundry detergent, if you can still find it.
That's the best hand cleaner I've found for my grubby mitts if I am taking m'lady courtin'.
Sure lets you know where all the cuts are, but does a great job under the nails and on the tuff grime. I just wet my hands and dip em in the box. Scrub freely.
Great looking bevel set Tom. I am afraid to start now seeing how nice yours looks. Mine get ugly quickly on these big blades historically.. Little gun shy I think, hehe."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

Dang! I leave the thread for a day and come back to THIS! What a good looking razor! It feels like I'm getting left in the dust and haven't even started yet... lol hehehe
Okay actually I have started. I'll get pics up tomorrow, my home internet its down until then.
For my first on this thread I started small with a Perfect Works Cape 650 Swedish Steel. I have 2 of them one in good condition and one (this one) was a bit pitted. Was gonna do a weekend set but my brother begged me for one.
A short blade, but with heft, even though the blade gets very thin.. so she will sing!
Again I'm sorry no pics tonight, I'll get them on tomorrow.
That's a real beauty Sharptonn!
And Outback that blade finish is looking very fine! Takes dedication to get to that point! Ive been realizing that recently as I've started "re-learning" hand sanding after seeing some of the mirrors posted on SRP...
I like both, mirror and the other blade finish variations. Maybe some people put a mirror on too many blades, but take a look at the perfectly flat crisp clean mirrors on some original nos blades you will see that they had serious skills, those masters of old.
