I know Tom but I've always been the type that it has to be right or it will bug me. I guess I'm somewhat of a perfectionist at trying to do things & it probably comes from when I used to work on Harley's. The job had to be right or I wasn't happy. I guess that's why my work hardly ever came back, probably 3 times a year when some others would have several each month.

Here's what it looked like when I had it mocked up.

I would certainly not heat and attempt to bend the tang on that, Steve!

I'll check this out Tom. I know I have seen it before but it can't hurt to look at it again.

    Please Steve!!
Toms always steered me right. I'll even make shims for ya, and get them sent to ya pronto if needed.
The blade Mike B sent me is bent and the blade has a twist in it, and I myself was able to center it.
Heres a pic that shows the blade in the scales from both ends.

This end shows how far off it is.

Yet looks perfect from this end, with the blade opened at the same height .

The position you are in, Steve, is that you have the answer in the custom made wooden scales!
Some judicious pivot-area sanding on just ONE of those scales will cure all properly.
Just look at it and see what you need to do!

(That's what I always tell myself!...........)

So it has come to me that some of you have received a box from me. A few others as well.

Due to public hysteria as to what they are, I shall explain.

They are 'snurdlers' or 'snurdles' . Do a forum search upon the subject, Please!
They are tools to dig out and transfer a tiny dab (snurd) of soap/cream to a mug or scuttle.
If a harder snurd, it is used to crush the snurd under a bit of hot water to make it behave, as it were.

Some snurdlers are quite plain, while some should be fancy.
The dozen dessert knives are from Johnathan(ultrasoundguy).
The madness which ensued is, insanely, from me.
    That!

Believe it or not, that idea has crossed my mind today. Looking at the top of it with the pivot closer to me, it was closer to the left scale so if I were to grind a small amount at an very slight angle, it should straighten up.
I do have some of that heat block paste & I will experiment on a junk blade one day, same brand as in Charlie's video. I'll see if the heat goes beyond the paste.

Okay, now...............I was a snurdler recipient so thank you Tom. I did have that feeling in my gut it was you but never said anything about it yet.
    Very interesting but beautiful piece!

I don't get it. I have the first pic cropped & in my photo library it is cropped but here you see it before I cropped it! I just deleted it & put it back in.
Okay, I just re-cropped it, hope this does it!

Indeed, jut a bit of off-sanding downhill on one pivot side should do it!

These snurdlers (obviously ) are crude instruments. Enough time on a bench grinder, wire wheel, and buffer was spent, I suppose!

Well I put the Oxford back together and honed it up tonight, just finished it.
So I'm gonna take a late shower, pull out the snurdler and my coffee mug warmer , and whip up some warm lather and see how she shaves.[emoji6]
