Thanked: 4206Good idea trying the email option Steve.
Tom was going to send a note to the last known address we had for Mike. Was a good friend of his that he used as a mail hub during his move.
Hope he replies to one of you. Would be nice to know he, and his new baby are all AOK.
BTW gents, the shave from that WB smiler I put together was very nice... When I got the bevel bang on with my new Chosera, I think I overenthusiastically jumped through my progression. Didn't spend enough time on the mid grades. Went back to 4k and took my time going up from there and finishing on my ZG.
Smooth, nice shaver.

It makes me sad that you are all wringing your hands for MikeT. Face it, he is gone. His star shined briefly and brightly, and then, like others before him, he petered out....pfffttttt, another piece of dust floating into deep space. He touched all of us with his....whatever it was.....
Lest you all fall about weeping and keening, MikeT is still with us, in this thread, 'til the end of time."Call me Ishmael"

Indeed, Bill, 'tis the truth. People come and go, the way it is.
Sadly, I have a really nice blade with him for scales to be made.
Wish I could retrieve it."Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

You're too funny Bill. I had to laugh when I read this.
Yeah, it's true, people come & go but I hope he will get back in touch. He was going through a lot, moving & a baby coming so I hope there weren't any complications. He might be pretty busy getting things organized & then if the baby came that might be keeping him pretty busy as well & possibly keeping him up at night. If I were in his shoes, family would come first. I do hope he comes back around though. I hope he didn't peter out!

Thanked: 4206Turned my attention back to the slow rebuild on the WB celebrated tonight.
I like jimps on my razors personally, and thought maybe a thread file might work to cut some in this softer brass and ivory. Taped up the blade for protection and clamped the blade up fairly snug. First tooth to cut was the hardest, after that it was basically advance up the track as I cut it, sawing and skipping a few teeth at a time till I had the profile I wanted.
Went intentionally with two different pitches, 27 tpi for the thumb and 16 for the fingers simply based on what feels right to me, finer pitch on the thumb side and coarser on the top just drives better in my hand.
Dunno why, but I like what I like.
