Thanked: 4827There is a super cool old dude in Wisconsin, his forum name is Geezer. Shoot him a PM, and offer to send him the blade for assessment. He is very knowledgable. It's a couple of hundred miles from your place to his so a bit of a hike for a face to face but likely only two days mail each way.

Yep, I periodically hit up an antique store over here. The guy doesn't really know straight razors but I have been trying to give him some tips...you know, so he can make some more money...anyway he gets his razors (and all of his antiques) on a route he runs through New York a few times a year. The last time I checked in with him he had 25+ razors with nothing really standing out.

RezDog: So I'm shaving this morning and I'm thinking, 'does Shaun actually shave in a boat on the water, while the boat is under way?'

@sharp, @WW & @outback, good thing I have family in friends all over NY, may have to do a razor-shopping trip this summer Though I was thinking of doing some stops along in Il when on the road for work, luck with timing has been pretty good to me in the past...

Thanked: 4206Not so butchered as it is broken. Been cleaning up this scale-less as received British razor, and am just about ready to put it back together. Need to finish the scales some first though.
Going with a honey horn in a classic shape.
Think maybe a bone wedge and silver pins, or maybe brass on brass..
Depends on any variation that shines through the horn when it's thinned out.
