Yeah Mike......evolving skill set[emoji38] [emoji38]
Was looking at some of my earlier works of art....more like wrecks of art, thinking the same thing.
Good thing is, dont have to restore the blade again, just grind a set of new scales out, with my two rasps for hands.... [emoji57] give me an hour or two, and I'll get it pinned too. [emoji23] [emoji23]

Thanked: 237Well boys, I've been absent from this thread for a while and that's about to change(at least for a few months) I'm now on "the list" for a wootz razor via bruno. So here's my latest restore work in progress.
It had some light rust here and there, nothing serious. I didn't want to go to aggressive with it so I started at 600 then went to black compound. I'm still debating if I want to do more or not. I don't like shiny brand new looking 200+ year old FBU'S, so I might go back to 600 and get that satin glow back. I had that slab of honey horn all ready to go and then stumbled upon a set of butcher FBU scales that don't belong to a razor. So they are soaking in neatsfoot awaiting sanding. Man I love 8/8+ razors!

Thanked: 4206Amen gents.
Prodigy, that's going to be a fine FBU man!
Domestic duties keep interrupting but I have the Clarke mocked up and wedge completed.
I tried to make another wedge out the amber Miket sent me, but the sizes didn't work so I stayed with brass. Made it quite thin at the tail end this time trying to really tighten up the finished look.
Cheers. Friday's here gents!!
