It worked very well, indeed. It's not a amount of metal that would affect the balance, just 0.5~0.7 mm. I didn't notice any change.
I left the embedded surfaces of the insert rough to bond with the resin, And polished the face that contactos the blade.

Thanked: 4827Matheus, how did you cut out the relief for the inserted splint? I think that would have been the hardest part. It certainly turned out well.

TBH, these days I just plug in the old WedgeO'Mat. Scrap lead in the reservoir. Let it warm up a bit and push the button.

Man!! That thing is AWSOME!!!! I got a ancient model but it doesn't work as good as yours.
I post a pick of it when I get home from work..

Just a quick question on the railway track anvils.
What size is the working surface ?
I might be able to get myself a piece of an old railway track. The working surface converted to inches is 3.75" x 2.75". Is this too small?Tony

Its perfect.
The ones i made were 3" long
Mine's a little different from the ones I sent the guys though, theirs is finished on top and one end.Last edited by outback; 12-23-2015 at 07:41 PM.
