Muahahahahaha!!!
You are all falling into my mischievous and diabolical plan... if I send you shorties to work on, the sight of a broken blade on your bench will be far too vexing to leave unattended... you will have NO choice but to work on them, and then my time away from the workshop will simply be remembered as "The Great Shorty Revival of 2016" and not as "The Great Absence of the Slow But Detailed Brother of the Butchered Blade of 2016"...
So, as you can see, my "Shorty Scheme" is simply saving you from having to write that long era title out, and distracting you from my terribly unsettling absence.
I'll end this rant with a little saying that I could imagine some crusty old timer passing on to a distracted youth:
"You gotta break a blade to make a shorty, or two to make a wind chime!"
Muahahahahaha!!! Har har har!“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

Oh yes, and there are more broken blades where those came from... muahahahahaha!
Tom, that Herder is gonna make a great Herdersori! Given your experience and great results with the Searsasori I figured that you would appreciate that one. It's got a beautiful tip, and no hone wear, should turn out nice.
I've got a few more heel breaks that will make great Herdersoris, so I'm excited to see what you guys will do.
Outback, those blades will look great as you plan them, I figured you would choose to keep them long which is the better choice i think.

Guess I spoke too soon.
Shot into the antique shop across the street from where I work, being their open late on Fridays. Low n behold...I find two Bokers in the case. One needs an amputation, the other has a small chip near the heal.
So more has been added to the Butchered pile.
