Thanked: 1184Looks like it needs some rubbing and a hone job. Hopefully the rust doesn't go that deep. After that it should shave well. Did you buy it or are you thinking about it ?

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

The heel to toe angle is what scared me off. I didn't buy it (asking price was $50). I wasn't sure if it would be serviceable/worth the trouble, so I aired on the side of caution.
How about this one? Looks like it has a slight frown, but could be fixed. I have never heard of a "Myer's Special" though?

Thanked: 1184I bought a razor to learn on and the shipping cost more than the razor @ 4 bucks usps. You could find one ready to go right here in the classified section for about what your going to spend with no guess work.

Oh yeah, I probably won't buy another razor (got my first one from Larry recently) until I'm a little more familiar with what to look out for (unless I come across an obvious deal). I figured some of these razors had a little bit of damage on the blade and could be decent contenders for the thread. I'll keep that in mind though.

This Fredrick Reynolds is being sold as shave ready. I guess I can't be 100% sure from the photos but when I zoom in, it looks like the edge is very pitted and Swiss cheesy

This had to take ages to do this.
One time, in band camp, I shaved with a Gold Dollar razor.
