Just a warning about a specific ebay vendor. They are selling polished/ semi polished razors with seriously blown tempers, ask me how I know.....
Be particularly weary (more than usual) of any blade that looks too nice for its age.
PM me for the sellers info, Ill send it out when they credit my refund.

I saw one advertised as NOS but you could see the edges of the makers mark blown out from buffing. I looked for the picture but I must not have even watched it. I look for another one as this looks like something everybody should watch out for.

That strop looks okay, you never really know until you open that box! It looks like there might be some mold on the linen but the leather looks to be in good shape not cracked or crusty and it lays flat, no bacon edges, that's a good sign. For thirty bucks I think you may have a nice strop!

How do you get to the point where you have a frown like this?

    Poor Ducky...

This is what EPD is talking about.
This blade is destroyed. When photographed flat on, it looks like a perfectly fine 7/8 razor. But when you angle the blade you can see how the edge runs up and down like a potato chip edge. Not only is it ground too thin to be useable, the temper is blown out, and the steel will actually bend into whatever position you push it into. It would be easy to put this in a sale, and let some other sucker buy it. They would never know until it was in their hands.

Gooser, just keep working that spine until you get a double edge! You are pretty close to it right now

I saw that Dubl Duck a few nights ago and laughed so hard I woke the bride. The sad part is you know the owner was using it like that. You don't put a frown like that on a blade your first time at the stone, it takes time!
I shave because I want to, not because I have to!

That's 1 way to take a chip out of it . When I see those I always picture some guy down by a river sharpening his razor on a round rock and using fish oil for shave cream.

Make it a frame back. I always wanted to try that with an inexpensive razor.
