Thanked: 993After reading this, I'm even more excited.
My short knot silver tip was shipped on October 8. I'm going to start crossing my fingers before I reach for my mail key.

Well, I used the FS Brush today for the first time with an actual shave. I have to say that it preformed much better today than it did last night when I tried making a practice lather.
I mixed up some Institut Karite Soap and Musgo Real Cream. The lather whipped up nicely. I still think the brush needs to break in a little bit before it will preform optimally, but I was able to build a very good lather today. I really like the feel of the brush in my hand. The handle is not puny like my shavemac. It is large and has some weight to it, which I like. I get a much better grip on it.
On to the face.... I started with circular motions on my face and the brush held a lot of lather. It seemed like there was more lather in the brush than in my scuttle The bristles are very, very soft. Much softer than my shavemac finest badger so that leads me to believe that this is in fact high quality silver tip badger hair. I did notice that the brush lost one hair today....again, I am still attributing this to break in.
So far, so good! After using this brush today, I am even more amazed that it is only $23.99. I think I will be purchasing the "finest" brush as I do like more backbone, but the softness of the silvertip is very luxurious and pleasant.

Frank Shaving Brushes
Gentlemen:
I ordered one of these brushes, the pure badger, and it arrived within a week. The brush was supplied with an acrylic drip stand. It was also well packaged.
Mine is a 22 mm. with good backbone and generous head of hair. It holds water well and helps make rich lather. The bristles are firm, which I like, but they're far from spikes on the skin.
I have nothing but good things to say about this vendor. Overall I am most pleased with this brush. It is worth every penny.
Regards,
Obie

Thanked: 0After reading this post, have just ordered a a Finest Badger Hair Brush in Butterscotch.
Always felt that some of the prices for a Badger Hair brush were a bit extortionate. But at £12 including postage from China I consider that a bargain.
Thanks for the post and putting me onto Frank brushes.

My Frank Shaving Luxury Silvertip came in last week, and it's been through 2 shaves so far. I was pleasantly suprised to find that the brush handle has some heft, and doesn't feel like plastic at all. The brush shed a few hairs during the first shave, but none on the second. I use creams much more often than soaps, so had no problem whatsoever generating a fine lather.
This is, IMHO, a great bargain. I've wanted a silvertip brush for quite some time, but didn't want to lay out the dough and be disappointed (I'm a firm believer in diminishing returns). Now I have a silvertip brush that feels and performs as I hoped for under $30 with international shipping, couldn't be happier.
Now I'll have to order the "finest" for the soaps!

Just ordered 2 of the long handled "finest" brushes and a couple of the stands to see how they are.

Thanked: 0First of all thanks for a great forum!
I'm about to pull the trigger and get a couple of these FSBs.
Thinking of a finest and a silvertip (luxury).
I noticed that there is another seller on ebay that is offering the brushes as well. Does anyone know if there is a connection between Ian and this company?

Got a Luxury Silvertip brush from him as well as a couple of extra brush stands about a week ago. It's better than my other badger hair brush that was twice as much, and it's only lost somewhere around 7 hairs in the days I've used it. It's excellent for the price, but it's almost too soft. It isn't, but it's bordering on it.
Just throwing in my 2c
