Thanked: 2@ Maxi
Maxi, Have you picked up your brush yet? I'm thinking of ordering one but not if @#%*$%$% customs won't release it.

The Frank Finest delivers an excellent performance at it's price point. Mine has a loft of 52 mm and at that loft it has adequate backbone. I really was not so impressed with the silvertip. It falls well below the density and quality of the popular better known brands. Mine has a loft of 48 mm and even at that loft it is soft and floppy. At it's price it's fair value, but no more than that. If you want a Frank brush for your collection, the Finest is the one to go for.

Thanked: 993The wait is OVER!
I just got my Silvertip brush today. After a long wait, it's finally here.
I whipped two lathers after soaking it for a while. I bought this brush specifically for soaps. I have a Vulfix Superbadger for creams, which I love, so I was looking for a softer brush for my soaps.
This is it. These two lathers came out beautiful, fluffy, white, no air pockets.
The handle is very comfortable for me to hold, and it has a bit of heft to it. It felt great to use.
Tomorrow I'll lather the face and shave, but so far, for $30 including shipping, I'm very happy. I may order a finest badger, simply to have one for the travelling kit.
Two points for frank shaving.
Maxi.

The finest badger seems to be the favorite

Just received 2 or the longer handle finest. I havent tried them yet but they feel nice and a bit stiffer. I also picked up 1 of each of the wire brush stands. Nether one fits a Merkur DE, neither one will hold a straight and both have a problem holding the Frank Shaving Brushes. The included plastic stands are actually better.
I'd have to recommend against the stands.
If somebody could use them maybe I can donate them to one of the give aways.
Slivertip on left, Finest on right.

Thanked: 993Morning Update
The silvertip made a great proraso cream lather this morning, and lathering my face was a very luxurious feeling. The bristles are dense and somewhat soft, and the resulting feeling was like running a thick piece of velvet over my cheeks as I spread the lather.
Maybe Obie would write us a nice line of prose describing the initial feeling of lathering in general. His language is always nice to read.

Based on the reviews here I got 2 frank's finest, one regular and one long handle. They arrived today, well packaged. They were shipped registered mail which turned out to be good - they were late on arriving and I contacted Ian, he promptly emailed me back informing me they had arrived here 9 days ago. Sure enough, it was just customs were a little late.
I just took the long handled for a test ride. I am very happy with it. I have been using only boar up to this point, thinking a badger brush would feel too floppy for me. I'm happy to say there still is sufficient firmness to them, and they are even softer to the face than I imagined. I already am very happy, and I'm sure they will only improve as they are properly broken in.
The only drawback is, I really was quite happy with my old trusted boar brush - it now looks timid and puny sitting next to it's new competitors

Ok, after all the good reviews, I am very curious.
Where can I buy a brush?
