Thanked: 237Its was actually pretty cool getting the old ca off. When the acetone hit a road block I used my buffer with a clean wheel. Melted the ca into little globs. Picked those off with my fingernail, then repeated that process until it was all gone. Lightly sanded with 400 grit to open up the pores again. I will say that the grain definitely has more pop with this danish oil! Pics when it's done, I don't want to jinx myself haha

Thanked: 237I just ordered some of the osmo #3011. Seems danish oil is pretty good for light use items, so I don't think I'll use it on brushes anymore. However some people say they buff the Danish oil into a high gloss finish.

Thanked: 237All done. I think I like this a lot better than the cracked ca. I'll try the hardwax oil soon too.

Thanked: 237Here's a better picture of the final product. After the Danish oil cured I put one coat of tried and true on it. It's a polymerized linseed oil and beeswax combo. Looks pretty darn awesome in person!
