Loft came in right at 55mm. I'm so excited waiting on this epoxy to fully cure!

Holy smokes guys. This knot is the real deal. I'm completely blown away at the performance. I always struggle building up MWF. This brush accomplished that task in what seemed like an instantaneous amount of time. And, as far as I can tell, it has some scritch to it!

This particular knot was the d01 two band. It's in the 30mm size with 58mm loft. The knot depth in the brush gives a loft of 55mm. This is hands down a top of the line performer and must have for any brush connoisseur.

I'll take one in a 20 or 22mm....... You can have the 30!!!

Glad it all came together for you Kyle. The fact that you made the handle makes it even more special, am I right!?? Enjoy brother!

Seems like yesterday I was asking advice on jaws and grinders. I need to try some more in different sizes, but the 30 is perfection to me. I wonder if they give discounts on multiple knots. We could get a few guys to all go in on one order maybe?

I have a bunch to order very soon. I think TC alone wants a half dozen. Ha

So apparently I sanded too thin in a few spots. Not enough to notice when polishing up the handle, but when used and put in water, the finish is horrible in several spots. Has anyone ever messed up like this? Any ideas on how to approach it? I'm scared to even try reapplying CA and sanding etc with the knot set. It's not the end of the world, but I feel so stupid for not noticing this before I put the knot in.

Brush looks great! That knot looks like it's nice and firm.

On the CA finish I am curious to hear what some of the more experienced turners have to say .

Id think you could carefully touch it up, really carefully. wrap the knot up and tape it up really well to protect it and go at it. I am not sure how a CA finish will turn out without being on the lathe tho. Buuuut I don't do the CA finishes so I am guessing.

Yea, that's kind of what I was thinking as far as approach. I do ca finishes on scales, so it shouldn't be impossible to do off the lathe. At this point I don't even care if it's perfect, but I probably should have it sealed up properly before using it again. I'll post some pics of the aftermath shortly. I was looking at the brush Andrew made me, he has the ca finish perfect, even in all the hard to reach spots. Hoping he can chime in, maybe possibly put a video together of his finishing methods. Fingers crossed.
