Thanked: 556I have books I reread just because it gives me great pleasure and others that I reread because the author’s prose is so dense with ideas that I have to revisit the words after letting them percolate for a while. And there are others that I reread because I can’t make sense of the words or plot. Finally, there is one book I have been trying to read for four years and am unable to get past page 34 without giving up or falling asleep.

Not all readers and authors are created equal.
Some readers may have to re-read a fortune cookie.
Some authors could not compete with fortune cookie level work.
I agree that intelligence does not guarantee an ability to teach.
In my opinion, the highly intelligent people that I have met, have all had an uphill battle in regard to communicating complex thoughts to those less able or less inclined to understand such thoughts.
So I try not to place blame on those I don't understand...

I'm trying to wrap my mind around this... ugh .. okay I think I got it ..
If I find myself looking at an ignorant man, I simply have to punch him in the face, and pick up the priceless pieces of sharp knowledge out of my bathroom sink???
Somehow I think I'm missing something here...“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

Richard, that is quite the thought there. Thank you!
I used to have trouble looking at the idiot looking back at me. It took some time, and some very deep reflection, but once I accepted the man looking back at me and his PAST actions, each day is a step forward in a now very happy life.
Learn from your past mistakes and take each lesson to heart. Then, don't make that mistake again, but find the right action or thought to make it the right thing to do.Look sharp and smell nice for the ladies.~~~Benz

Thank you!
I'm going to have to look that one up, find the book.
Silence comes slow for me. Always wanted to be a man of few, but valued words.. never achieved it but for a few priceless moments when profound occurrences left me speechless.
Too bad those moments were tragedies, but I'll make lemonade when I can.“You must unlearn what you have learned.”
