I agree Mike. Now days unless you spend a bunch of money on furniture its junk. I enjoy finding the old stuff and fixing it up. Its fun and I learn a little every time I do one. They made things differently and better way back when.
Ive never thought I was a furniture restorer but hey, why not when you have the tools.

Got the pantry and hall finish and started on the kitchen. I will do a little at a time. Here you can see the new stuff on the left, old stuff on the right and the original stuff in the middle.

So I had a dream about a straight razor case for when I travel. I have 3 straight razors designated for travel. I didn't have a case, so I made one out of leather. It's all lined with heavy felt and the razors are held in place with heavy 1" elastic. It turned okay and will protect my razor when I travel. I am pleased! Please enjoy the pictures!

Tight stitches, looks rustic right off the get go, and does what it’s meant to do, protect your kit!
That’s a winner right there. Nice work John.
