I reckon the square goes back to ancient times. Men have likely forgotten more than they know?

I bet you will do a great job on the big stairs too Jerry, the small set looks good. Both the steel square, or framing square have some tricks to them. I am far more inclined to check you tube than to read much. The information proccess better if it goes in both my eyes and my ears at the same time.

Good idea Shaun. I do fall back on youtube now and then when I need instruction. I shall watch a few vids on the stairs and Squares to see if it helps. Thanks.

    Anal?

OK, my new iron horse has a chrome nut with knurling and a slot to take off the seat.

As you can see others have dinged up the slot using screwdrivers that are too small for the task at hand.

SO I purchased a 'Drag Link Socket' for a 3/8" drive. I knew the male that goes into the slot was too big as it was advertised as 1/8" wide. So I ground the male down until it would fit in the slot (the final width is about 5/64ths), then rounded the ground area back to the rounded area and then sanded and polished it to remove most of the scratches. Then I blued that area.

It fits very nicely in the slotted head but with some clearance. The bolt is between the passenger back rest and the back of the seat to to get to it. things come in at an angle but I've tested and it works very well

Another project/home upgrade done and off the books. I replaced the range exhaust fan but it was a little smaller so the ugly wall showed above the backsplash. So I took the fan down tiled the wall then put the fan back up.

Very nice work my friend! :

Any old saying goes: "There's no rest for the wicked"

Years ago things were really busy at work, the department had a sickie call in and so we were short handed and a customer commented on how hard I was working and I told her 'There's no rest for the wicked' and she immediately shot back 'And the Righteous Don't Need It"!

It was all I could do to keep from smiling, let alone laugh as I found it so funny how she had so quickly shot her remark back.

If you keep this excellent handyman stuff up, that bride of yours may just hire you out on your off days.
