Post #2 - Holster - Here I used vegetable tanned leather. I made the pattern on paper first and then cut the leather. Front and back pictures. I used the USMC black leather dye. I used waxed twine to stitch the leather and an awl. Turned out all right. I used a nice medium gauge cotton fabric to line the holster. Used contact cement to hold it in place. I then wrapped my weapon (Sig Sauer 2022 9mm in plastic wrap) and drenched the holster in water. I then shaped the holster to the weapon and let it dry. Fits like a glove!

Post Final - Stuff used to finish the project. Stitching was the most time consuming and it took a great deal of patience. But the rig is very comfortable and can wear all day with no fatigue. Under a concealment vest, it doesn't show and I feel ready if the need should arise.

I have one more projects that turned out pretty good. I got a really nice hunting knife for Christmas but the case that it came with wasn't all that great. So I decided that in the tradition of the days of long past, I would create one that fit my needs. Since you guys like close ups, I learned to try harder the 1st time
Post #1 - Here's the knife and the case finished product. Next post - close ups of the front and back.

Great job there Marine,,, that pistol seems to fit well.

You know everyone kept telling me that if I retired that I would die within two years of retirement. I kept telling them if I stay in I would probably die within the next two years. It's all good and it will be two years this month that I retired. I work on these little projects and am very happy. No one is shooting at me or trying to blow me up. Life is good!
