There is only one natural lake in Wabasha county and that is just a wide spot in the Mississippi river.
The drift less area is interesting. the last glaciers passed it by.
Mn Calls itself the land of 10,000 lakes but that corner doesn't have any.

The Chippewa river used to drain Lake Superior.
That is what formed lake Pepin by making a sandbar in the Mississippi near Wabasha.
For what it is worth my bees are on the WI side near Maiden Rock.
