Another one: In Belgium it is not done to discuss salary and wages with any but your close friends.

I wonder when people here do discuss their compensation plans if they tell the truth or if they "fudge" a little?

I never talk about it with anyone, ESPECIALLY family, LOL.

Similar in Australia, though plenty do it. Those that do, in an obvious way, are considered to be big-noting themselves.

In Aus. people have come up with other (dare I say more subtle? - nah) ways to indicate their income level - size of house, type of car, breed of dog (one of my friends paid almost 3000AUD for one of those Borzois - nice dog, but that's what we paid for our first car!) .

Personally, I feel this is more a sign of their debt levels than anything else. Bitter? Moi?

That's one of the reasons I don't really worry about the house I have or the car I drive. They please ME. I don't live to impress others. Well, except for y'all...
