I didn't know that about christianity/islam/judaism. Can you elaborate?
it is really quite simple... the old testament is the foundation of Judaism, in particular the first five books, God can be appeased through sacrifice. Christianity added the new testament and it's teaching of God's grace. The Koran took the Old and the gospels from the New (as well as several of the "apocryphal" books not considered part of the Bible and added the teachings of Mohamed, while down playing the role of Christ (considering him just a major prophet).

Naturally, all of these groups have fragmented into the various sects that we see today. Each of them has a militant group but most as peaceful and simply want to live to see the coming (or second coming, as the case may be) of the Messiah.

    Here endeth the lesson.

Well, normally there isn't. But I just dropped by while taking a break from my kitchen renovation. And I have an inbox full of complaints... all about this thread. I have to say several of you should be ashamed of yourselves.

Discuss and agree/disagree all you want. But keep it civil, on topic and no more mean spirited stuff, please.

I really should get a copy of the koran. I've read both old and new testaments but for all the furor over islam the past few years I really know very little about it.

because politicians do it in public, usually against your will. you only like it when they are doing it to somebody else, say the rich which they define as anyone making over 52K a year, this excludes lots of the wealthy because wealth is only taxed at 15% on the capital gains (thank goodness)

LOL, after my last divorce I was so far behind I thought I'd never dig out.

Don't want to leave a mass of bills, just don't want to leave anything we could have enjoyed.
