You believe what you chose to believe. Since faith by its very definition is the absence of proof, the problem you have is that you can't prove any of it, and without proof you will never ever be able to persuade someone that does not share your faith.

I'd suggest we abandon the discussion of the validity of the bible and christianity and stick with the topic before a mod has to redirect the thread.

You say that I am intolerant and prejudiced? Are the people in China Town, Olvera Street, West Hollywood, Fairfax, Beverly Hills and the other places I mentioned intolerant and prejudiced? Hmmmmm...yes! yes they are. Thank you for you're very enlightened, accepting and politically correct observation.

As for proving the "validity" of the Bible......Do you believe that Napolean was at Waterloo? Can you prove it? were you there? There is so much more evidence of the life of Jesus Christ and the TRUTH of the Bible than there is proof of the existence of Napolean of Julius Cesar. Try reading Isaiah 53 (written 700 years before the crucifiction of Jesus Christ) and then talk to me about proof!!!!

I am not abandoning the thread. I started it. My request to return the discussion the topic of Societal Norms was a polite way of asking you to back off the bible discussion before you have a moderator tell you to. If you wish to start a thread on that topic that is your prerogative. We understand where you are coming from so any further biblical justification of your position is unnecessary and unwanted.

I seem to recall that Christ said to the pharisees, in the matter of the woman taken in adultry, "he who is without sin amongst you, throw the first stone." (my paraphrase) ... and then later "judge not, lest you be judged"

Since I'm not gay I'm afraid I won't be able to confirm your observation. My wife did get quite a kick out of your comment. I think it is very telling that you posted that. Are you coming out of the closet or is it just a fantasy that you have long held pent up inside? I'm sure that these feelings you are espousing are causing quite a conflict inside you. Perhaps you may have had a traumatic experience early in life that you have kept buried deep inside in a place you don't want to talk about. You may want to see some counseling. You don't want to end up like the Col. Fitts character in American Beauty.

Yes, I did say exclusive. That was the point. There are no illnesses that target homosexuals exclusively. Again, if you lack the ability to follow simple logic there really is no reason to continue trying to explain things to you.

My apologies. You are right. I will relax now. I don't think I was any more rude than anyone else, but apparently I was. And I apologize to those I offended. Thank you for pointing that out to me. I will say this though, we are to "reason together" and instruct each other in what is right and wrong. Do you believe in moral absolutes? Since you quoted the Bible, the book that LIFE magazine said "the United States was founded on, more than any other document or book." (paraphrase) may I assume that you also believe in moral absolutes? I do too.
