To people outside the U.S they look at us and are just astounded at what they see when it comes to just about every issue. It's just sad in this case people are dying because of it.
I've been on this earth 72 years and at any time in my life if someone told me things would be as they are now I would have told them they were crazy. It would have been beyond belief. yet here we are. Crumbling infrastructure, crumbling economy, deteriorating social structure, and on and on. I think we are already a second world country heading south fast.
What's the solution to all this? Just blame someone else and continue the slide. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

I personally don’t believe what your reading. You can quote your sources and believe your friend, but who says he really knows anything more than the other talking heads? It’s easy to doubt the scenario that is being presented, or keep bringing up the big pandemics of old ( of course were you there? ) So it’s still all quess work. But the reality is people are dying! I don’t care if it ain’t the numbers of LEGEND 180 k is a lot of humans on the here land we are on. And just like the death penalty debate, what will you say when it’s your mother, brother sister or the daughter? Hummm now it’s not political it’s death

See, the trick is identifying the angle. These commercials are only partially about selling drugs. I believe the bigger aim is in disclaimer. That way when the law firm of Dewey, Cheetham & Howe files.a class action suit they can say, " you can't say we didn't tell you." Where companies get in the biggest trouble is when they know the dangers and don't tell anyone or worse, try to cover it up. Asbestos and baby powdercome to mind.

Not a bad theory but I hope you don't mind if i choose to wait until I see what a rushed through half tested vaccine does to you before I bare my arm.
Of course, New Zealand and south Korea are doing a stellar job, without vaccines.
I think stick your arm out and then get on with a completely normal life is pretty risky.
I can't even remember how many experienced shavers here told me that it takes work and there is no easy way when I first started, this disease is no different.
Covid can be got under control, it just takes leadership that wants to control it and a population that is willing to do what it takes.

Thanked: 580New Zealand has done well, it is an advantage to be a relatively small country surrounded by ocean.
But after 102 days of no community transmission somehow it has arrived and spreading again.
As good as our government has done, there are the same opinions as some on this thread, "it's just a flu", "the elite are taking over the world", "the government wants to control your every move"
All possible, but highly unlikely IMHO.
You know it could be that we are dealing with an unknown and the decision makers are scrambling for solutions.
One of the better ideas I have heard is a Bluetooth lanyard that is in development here in New Zealand. It doesn't record your location, it only receives the number allocated to any other lanyard within 5 metres and vice versa.
Brilliant I thought, but there will be nay sayers no doubt that will insist it's the work of the devil.Into this house we're born, into this world we're thrown ~ Jim Morrison

Haven't you heard no man is an island?...
I don't see that these two things are mutually exclusive. I think our health community has really done pretty well. It's the dark men I don't trust. Some of them may be from without. Our enemies in say the middle East, China, Maybe Russia even and of course some from within as well. There are some of these dark men that have agendas and some men just want to see the world burn.
It's funny hearing from people from other countries. Steve I don't blame you for being worried about that, especially being from one of the countries and living in the other country that used thalidomide with horrible results. You know the FDA wouldn't approve that here and when questioned about why they're so overly stringent they will tell you "I'll tell you in one word: thalidomide." Not that they catch everything but that didn't happen in the US. Sometimes the biggest enemy of the American people is the American people themselves. That frontier spirit has a price. I think most of the true frontiersman would tell you it's worth the risk of course there aren't that many of them left anymore. There's still some vestiges of it around though. You can see it in how people from the US think differently. I'm not surprised that South Korea has had a better time dealing with it. Eastern people's are group thinkers. Western peoples and in particular Americans are individual thinkers. "Don't tread on me," "Give me liberty or give me death," and all of that kind of stuff. No, people here don't think differently. There is a small but highly vocal group (as usual) who cause the problems. I've travelled the world enough to know folks think the same and have the same aspirations, wants, and needs no matter where you go.
You have this contingent here who have the idea this is a free country and no one is going to tell them what to do period. It's all very convenient however they have drivers licenses and vehicle registration and vehicle insurance and mandatory schooling and all kinds of professional and trade licensing and the list of what the Govt requires goes on and on. Yea they say they really don't need to do these things but that's bull because these are de facto things they comply with and have to comply with.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
