I have to ask.
If in the States people that have been vaccinated can stop wearing masks. How do they have to prove that they have been vaccinated or is it a simply a case that anyone can go maskless and just say that they have had the shots?
I am not sure about all of Canada but certainly in Windsor Essex County, Ontario where I live masks are mandatory regardless of whether a person has had the shot or not.- - Steve

Our Governor Mike Dewine is lifting The Mask mandates the beginning of next month, in Ohio.
I read that too, Steve. And I find it discriminative towards those that haven't, or won't, get the shot.
The vaccine was intended to stop "you" from contracting the disease, but it doesn't stop the spread of it.
So what about those, like myself, who have already had the virus and have built their own resistance to it.
The masks were only used to slow the spread, never to stop it.
Its all a bunch of BS, in my opinion.
What really burns my butt, is all the free money given out to those that got to stay home from their jobs, while others who had jobs, deemed necessary by government, got nothing.
The working folks are carrying the rest of the country on our back's

Thanked: 49All the idiots bashing the previous administration for acting counter to the what the CDC says are now acting counter to the CDC. The stench of hypocrisy permeates the air. Regarding masks? Use them if you want. If your vaccinated you can go without one ONLY if you want to. No penalty for wearing a mask.

I agree that not wearing a mask if you have gotten the shots is a good thing but how to tell if they actually got the shots. I herd one guy say that he got his shots so he plans on dropping the mask, and if the guy next to him didnt get the shots (as it was his choice to do) and he catches it from the guy who got the shots, than tough do-do. The other guy could have gotten the shots. It was his choice to go without.
I thought this was enteresting. I hadnt thought of it that way. Not saying he is right or wrong. But I will say its like most people in this world, only thinking of themselves. It's just Sharpening, right?

Masks, lock downs etc were only meant to slow the spread so too many people wouldn't get sick at the same time.
Right now talking to the infectious specialists at the hospital, they expect to see a slow decline but the virus wont disappear. It's just more manageable to have one person on the brink of needing intubation in a 20 bed community ICU rather than 20 and no beds left.
Vaccines are here, they work, it's time to open. Everyone has covid fatigue.
By the way I mentioned this before. mRNA vaccine, RNA virus. When the virus infects you it basically puts it's RNA into your cells, highjacks them and uses them to replicate and while doing that it kills them. The vaccine puts a part of that RNA into your cells, makes them produces a part of the virus.
So either way some foreign RNA enters your cells. Same thing happens any time you get infected with a virus, any virus. The technology behind mRNA vaccines is fascinating.

mRNA is fascinating I agree.
RNA, DNA controlled and given to us by the government and or large corporations.
A little scary if you ask me.

I'm somewhat confused as to how a vaccinated person could be mostly protected against severe illness, but yet still be able to carry and spread the virus. The only thing that I can come up with is that the vaccinated person's immune system is educated enough to lesson the viral load to a low enough level that they don't get sick, but it is not good enough to completely eradicate it, allowing the person to still carry and spread it.

Thanked: 556This happened with typhoid - ever hear the story of typhoid Mary. She infected a whack of people without every showing any symptoms herself. She eventually had to live under virtual house arrest.
SOme people have a natural immunity, but continue to be able to infect others.David
