Waters Of Mars
So has the rest of the world seen Waters of Mars yet???
Only 2 Tennant episodes to go, both over christmas and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
There is also a new BBC Sci-fi series called Paradox, keep your eyes peeled for that too.

I was really disappointed by Waters of Mars. The Doctor seemed to flip into a psychotic/schizophrenic 'other' as the way he behaved and talked and acted was so out of character. Not the good Doctor we have come to love.

Thanked: 234I thought it was excellent. I think the shift in the doctor's character is part of the story of him becoming who ever is next Mark.

Mr Mark, you forget the arrogance of the Timelords as a race. And since the Time War the Doctor has taken on a darker streak. A Timelord victorious is a very bad thing.
IMHO it was evolution of the character, Bakers Doctor had the same edge. When Who was relaunched with Eccleston you saw hints of it. There is only so much violence and destruction even the nicest person can take before it breaks them and you see the anger, the rage, the frustration. It all leads to that moral dilema, if you had the power to change things, could save a life instead of not being able to. Would you do it?
What happened with the Doctor is he had that moment of complete mania, the superiority complex of the big "I AM", supreme and just and right and hang the consequences. Pushing way past the usual boundries, his will, his way.
His arrogant pride came through then he realised he had gone too far, followed by panic, the panic of knowing it is his end......................

I can see what ol' Russ was aiming for when he wrote the episode, but I just wasn't convinced by it. Maybe this is Tenant's shortcoming... he can't act 'a**hole', and this part required it in this episode.
The thought did also cross my mind that this was preparing the way for that pre-pubescent Matt Whasisname to take over. You know, make the current Doctor out to be a bit of a tw@t so we mourn his departure less.
Ahh, we shall see whether the Doctor completely loses the plot in the final instalment!

I think we all prefer the first Dr. we saw. For me, it was Tom Baker. No one could pull off the clown/hero act as well. As for the recent ones, Tennent did a decent job, though I though he was too pretty for role at first. I guess I won't get the chance to sample the Eleventh Dcotor, asIT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE CARRIED IN MY AREA ANY MORE !!!!!!!!!!

Tom Baker was first for a lot of us and it is a high bar to try to vault. Filming for the new series is continung this week, at Stonehenge none the less!!!
I'm saying nowt else about it, but of course I know more.
The finale (End of Time) was sad, corny and a little oooooo as we expected. But I must admit, the trailer for the new series does look good. New Doctor, new attitude, new rules............

I loved the End of Time story, but felt that the end was a bit...self-indulgant. I have the utmost respect for everyone who has worked on the series, but it was just too much for me personally and left a bad taste at the end what was really a great story.
I am excited to see what Moffet (always loved his work) and Smith do now though.
