I'm a stationary Engineer at a hospital, for twenty years  hey wopmanfixit you hiring? It may sound interesting, but mostly its unpluging toilets and changing light bulbs. It not that bad, it pays the bills, and keeps me in fresh razors. And I can fix most any thing. Pats self on back. Tim

I didn't get my wings, I jumped as part of training with a 'shute I had to pack myself. Couldn't remember if I was hungover the morning that I packed it or not. Scary. I've jumped a couple of other times. I think everybody gets there wing at Ft. Benning, GA these days.

Thanked: 79Phong,
I think so too. (Ft Benning)
I personally haven't jumped at ALL so you got a jump on me there. A GySGT I worked for for awhile at Pt. Mugu tried getting us qual'ed with the Marines down in Pendleton, but the Navy said no-go. So the highest I've jumped is about 40 feet, out of a helicopter into the ocean. And THAT was higher than we were supposed to be...(pilot was apparently watching his barometric altimeter instead of his radar altimeter....huge "ooof" difference..) suddenly became apparent why we tie everything to ourselves.
I'm sure you remember similar stories.
The pay isn't great but there's lots of experiences you just can't get anywhere else,
IMHO

I work at Honeywell Ceramic Components in Torrance, CA.
It's a small lil group within the giant megalopolis of Honeywell/AlliedSignal.
I am the supervisor of the "forming" department, where the parts have their beginning. I used to have a crew of eight, but over the years a number of layoffs have reduced the workers down to just me. It's not so bad supervising yourself, I just wish I had the authority to give raises.
All in all, it's a fun job, been here eight years and still, for the most part, enjoy coming to work. :?
