Thanked: 234I am a firm believer in letting people get on with it.
International involvement in anything, charity, 'development', military action - what ever - seems to be akin to putting Petrol in your Diesel car. It makes a lot of noise, you don't really move anything forward and then it blows up.
I don't really think the US needs to make a statement of where it stands on 'freedom' again, either.

Glen makes a good point, sometimes the US is vilified for not "helping" too.
Where is the line, and when does something become meddling? I genuinely value foreign points of view. I lived in Brasil for Years and was constantly barraged by individual opinions about the US and her actions, and to a point, I can understand different points of view. As an American however, it feels (don't know how else to say this) like my country is expected to be the police and the worldwide humanitarian service, and at the same time vilified for it. That is what it FEELS like sometimes.
Don't know how much I can say without getting too far off track, so I'll stop here for a while.

you are comparing apples to microsofts...er...oranges...
you are saying the Iranians cant defends themselves...
is that right?
i don't think so...
if the government start a genocide...
then i would say we should do something...
but our involvement should be only to keep peace while they sort the election conflict...

Thanked: 13245Exactly Del1r1um you end up like a cop at a domestic call, they want help but turn on you as soon as you actually do something, a very dangerous spot to be in....

i know...
but you statement is not logically correct...
you are comparing a personal choice with a national decision...
the president is not representing him self, but the people. Every time the US mess with other country right to do whatever they want, it always blow in our face,
2 Examples: Afghanistan, Iraq
