Thanked: 1587Only time will tell with this issue. Once they get the LHC back online, we can skip ahead a few hundred/thousand years, take a look, and report back.
Well, just got back. I am pleased to say that SRP is still going strong, although it is a telepathic forum, after it was discovered that cryogenically suspended heads still produce stubble . And, for those interested in the Climate change issue, yes, this thread is still active!

Thanked: 431:)
Jumping off of that cliff is working out just fantastic for Australia, oh and especially Spain (ya, the mob is coming with torches and pitch forks looking for some heads to roll, and the leaders know it and are changing their tune now that they see that the people have woken up to the fact that they have been duped and scammed by Eco-extremists in order to fleece them for billions and billions, a scam which if successful will be passed on to oppress their families indefinitely for generations, and they ain't happy, and the leaders are sweating, sadly much damage has already been done by the cons).
Regards

Thanked: 1587Yes, but you do not know yet that before I went there I stayed here after not being there yet. It was only by knowing after I forgot that you did not know when I knew of your basement, or in what parallel universe it exists. Anyway, if you care to go forward in time by 3 minutes, wait 30 seconds, then come back 3:29 minutes, you will find I was sitting in your kitchen. How did you like your vegemite on toast?
Don't worry, in about 3 minutes this thread did resume it's original topic.

Thanked: 431YOU WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT !!!
YOU'VE GIVEN EVERYTHING AWAY !!!
I KNOW WHERE THE POISON IS !!
You've beaten my giant, which means that you're exceptionally strong.
And you've bested my Spaniard. Which means that you have studied and in studying you have learned that man is mortal.
But, you've fallen victim to one of the classic blunders. The greatest of which is - never get involved in a land war in Asia. But, only slightly less known is this -
NEVER GO IN AGAINST A SICILIAN WHEN DEATH IS ON THE LINE !!!
AHAA AHAA AHA HA HA HA HA HA HA AHAHAHAHAHA
I'm a schizophrenic ( ..... and so am I).
I'm much better now (that I'm on Prozac)

Thanked: 116Or the NOAA data? Or the fact that there is only a dip if you take the unusually hot year of 1998 as the starting point? Or even the opinion of author of the book used as a starting point for the global cooling scenario?

Wow, tons of replies. No matter what side you're on, this topic gets a lot of interest.
Personally, I think awareness of climate change and the responsibility of humans to not be wasteful is necessary. As to our influence on it? I don't believe it. There have been times in earths natural history when global CO2 levels have far exceeded where they are now and life flourished (see the Jurassic Period)... just not our kind of life.
What is the ultimate goal here? Do we think that the Earth has a thermostat somewhere that we can adjust to suit our 'perfect' temperature. Climate changes. Period. And there is little to nothing that we can do about it.
In short, don't be wasteful, recycle, do your part, but remember what a tiny part in Earth's history humanity really is.
