Actually that's only according to your simplified theology loosely based on tha bible. Calvinistic philosophy has just as much biblical support as armenianistic.
There are many things the bible says, and even if you like to equate it with god, it is still a good idea to keep in mind the parts about your human limitations. If you apply them to your understanding the bible you'll be probably a bit less certain of how right you are and how wrong others are.
Along these lines I keep wondering how much fruit your proselytizing here has yielded. I understand that your beliefs are so important to you that they are just about the only thing you want to post about. But you should probably realize that for most people being on a shaving forum has nothing to do with a search for Christ.
Just some food for thought... or perhaps prayer.

There is nothing simple about theology. I am Southern Baptist which is Calvinistic in nature. As for human limitations I understand them quite well but that does not stop me from trying to fulfill my purpose on this side of life.
Jesus said those who remain in me will bear much fruit. His purpose His way. As for the only thing I post about yes when I get into these threads but then again that's why ministry and missions are so important to me also. (Where your heart is.........) As for others search for Christ that's their business. I can save no one but I can at least voice a Christian's point of view in these threads. I've never started one of them (yet) but They are here for all points of view aren't they?

Absolutely. Your point of view is always welcome. I wouldn't go so far to consider it as the sole representation for a christian outlook, just as of one of the many christian sects.
I notice a fair amount of differences among these, and your particular brand happens to be of the less appealing ones to me.

I would never think my opinion is the only one. One of my favorite lessons to teach is "many members one body" Some of those I go to church with get aggravated because I'll work with Presbyterian's, Luthern's, Methodist's, Non-demoninational's, pretty much anyone who will to help those in need.
I'm sorry to hear Southern Baptist's are less appealing to you than others. I would hope that is because of the stuffed shirts that will not remove themselves from their religion long enough to see the needs of the lost and less fortunate and not because of those who wish to do all they can for them.Last edited by ENUF2; 01-16-2010 at 12:32 AM.

yes, that is what I meant by the golden rule. I'm not really sure how calling Robertson an idiot is a violation of that rule. If something bad were to happen to Robertson and I said it was a punishment from God, he and you can call me an idiot, ok?
In extreme cases, if someone is imho an idiot, or their actions or speech are imho idiotic, I do not believe it is unfair or not honorable to call them such.
maybe not love or respect, but I don't think it is too unmerciful just to call him an idiot.
I think that is something Pat Robertson should hear. For the most part I try to refrain from name calling, but there are extreme cases where I make exceptions. I agree we need to focus our actions on helping the Haitians. But I don't see how this thread is interfering with such. If you truly feel it is, then I suggest you stop posting in this thread and go give whatever help you feel you wish to give.
Are you sure you said the above in order to get people to focus on helping others, or just to get people to stop focusing on Robertson?

Our Church has already gathered supplies and are sending a medical mission team Sunday afternoon after taking up an additional offering in the morning. They will be going with a local radio show called "the Radio Bible Hour". I have a friend who's family has had an on going mission down there for over 50 years they Left immediately we have yet to hear back from them. There is many mission opportunities here and this just added to it.There has always been away to get involved sometimes we just have to look for them.
I personally do not watch his program and I do not agree with a lot of his statements but I do believe in love and mercy and to me these 2 manifest as respect or at least a decent facsimile of what respect should be. As for my opinion it's in my other postsAre you sure you said the above in order to get people to focus on helping others, or just to get people to stop focusing on Robertson?
I thanked your post because most may dish it out but few will actually take it and if you do take it then your statement is dead on and keep on keeping on.
