Keegan,,Please,,,,have an opinion of your own & not one of a staff writer for the Huffington Post of all places. Here is an introduction of Hirsh taken from the Post; "Larry Hirsch has been active for over two decades in New York City politics.
He is the Former President of Community Free Democrats and was the State Committeeman for the 69th Assembly District .
After spending the first 50 years of his life in New York City, Mr. Hirsch and his family have moved to New Jersey, where he expects to get active. "

Give us some personal insight into your position against firearms, please.

So.....ignorance fueled by misinformation? That article will make anyone even remotely familiar with firearms laugh.

I agree. Those who regularly laugh at facts and unnecessary deaths often defend the right to the tools to cause those deaths. Of course the weapons makers and sellers encourage such misinformation and ignorance.

Interesting that most law enforcement groups support a ban on automatic weapons, though.

I doubt that this is a topic where a consensus can be reached here.

Jeez even the Huff post super user comments think that is a terrible anti gun argument..

There have got to be better articles out there to help voice your opinion, try this link it has a ton of Anti-gun Organization links for you to read and learn how to state your opinion..

    http://www.georgiapacking.org/links_antigun.php

I mean if you are going to be anti-gun at least link an intelligently written article Hirsch basically writes "Assualt guns are bad, nobody needs them, because they are bad"... Reminds me of Second grade "See Dick run, See Jane run"

Honestly, I just double checked for you jgkeegan your opinion doesn't much matter anyway the government made the decision for you

Wait. What country are we talking about? In the US, there has never been talk of banning automatic weapons, which are closely regulated. There was an 'assault weapon' ban which was more about appearance, than anything else.

That entire article is based on the flawed premise that the sole purpose of an "assault weapon" is to kill people.
If you buy into that premise, I suppose it does make sense.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.
