For the Perth boys. For honing there is shaver city in picadilly( pricey and won't quote till they see the blade and expect a sermon), cut it out(knife sharpener ) and hair by frank barbarich in trinity arcade off st George tce . Frank is a old school barber who has Sr and strops through the shop. He honed my razor for $10 on what looked like a coticle. He Will also give advice and free check ups and a go on his pasted paddle. awesome bloke. There are 2 shops on picadilly arcade that sell razors, products etc but both are pricey. Shaver shops have the usual but limited range . There is a hair dresser out front of woolworths st georges tce has small amount of soaps, blades , brushs , after shaves etc. You wpmt find crox and sprays etc only dovo pastes and over priced strops.

Thanked: 3Hey everyone, found a mad leather guy in sydney that will custom make anything with leather... including strops and really cheap. Its not the qaulity of a dovo etc but then its a quarter of the price as well and for a beginner like me i reckon its perfect for learning if i damage it. Now im not trying to undercut anyone on this forum, if there's anyone making them, but if not and youd like his details then pm me and ill forward his number and some photos of mine.

Thanked: 1I ended up checking out my local Woolies and an IGA to no avail. The latter has the more 'less than pure core-stock' items but I ended up getting a 120g stick from the "Giant Chemist" at Harbour Town today for $6.95 which I'm happy with. They had a few different brands there but this was both the biggest by far and the cheapest as well!
I also went into the Crabtree & Evelyn and grabbed their Sienna shave soap. Of course the shave soap was the only type of product in the whole store not on sale! My wife grabbed it for me anyway

Thanked: 3Cheap hand made strops in Sydney: Can deliver...
Hi all! to the new beginners out there, or anyone really, not wanting to spend a fortune on a good leather strop head down to Paddy's Markets in Sydney. On the northern end wall of the basement market shopping district there is a leather belt maker. He can custom make leather strops at a steal... mine was $20! It is probably a bit long for my liking but it's 3" wide and has a reasonably good draw and polishes the blade up nicely.
I can also pm his contact number if you need to order one over the phone.
