Anything made by Abita is good but I would have to say my all time favorite is a lemon grass pale ale my neighbor and I brewed last summer. I am not trying to boast it was just a great combination of flavors for the summer time.

Home brew can be really good ... I've had a casual interest in brewing for a long time, but that's the last thing I need, to get involved in yet another thing I don't have time for

Hey guys, I kind of pushed Bruno to start this thread!I figured who better to start a thread like this than someone who lives where the best beers in all the world are made!
I wanted to start it based on great Belgium ale or great strong ales starting, say at 5% and going to 10 to 12 %!
A good white beer Or a wonderful double or triple, A fine Barley wine or a great Scotch ale! I don't know how many here have tried the wonderful beers of Belgium or some of the extraordinary Belgium style ales that are made by some of the micro breweries, but if you haven't, you owe it to yourself to try some of these fine products at least once in your life, and if you have tried these beers tell us what you tried and give us a little description and your thoughts. Maybe include price.
So tell us about these fine strong ales and Begium beers that you love!

The week I spent in Brussels, aside from (or perhaps due to) some rather grim December weather, was an excellent beer experience so I appreciate the motivation for this thread. Unfortunately I rarely knew exactly what I was drinking, friends picked most of them for me. Here at home, I particularly enjoy the AleSmith Wee Heavy (Scottish Ale) and some of the Stone special releases. For those in Socal who haven't been, the Stone beer garden in Escondido is quite nice and has a broad selection.
