Well I just like beer I will try about any beer. I like the fancy imported beers. I like the dark beers. I like microbrews. But after a day of working outside in the summer like baling hay or mowing grass it is flat tough to beat a good old PBR. Pabst Blue Ribbon that is. My uncle drank it when I was a kid and it was considered premium. Before mega monsters advertised everyone else out of business.

But that being said My wife buys me beer for valientines day and this year got Circus Boy by Mad Hat brewery and it was a very good brew. And a little place in Gatlanburg Tenn brews some fine ale. Smokey Mtn Brewery at the foot of the mountain. They also have the best ribs I ever ate. I get my 1/2 Gal growler filled every time me or a friend goes to Tenn.

I typically buy only Guinness. Although Sam Adams Boston Lager is really good. I've not had the chance to try any of the fancy imported stuff

The Belgian brews do it for me most of the time - although some lovely Scottish beers by Black Isle brewery, Sulwath and Cairngorms - particularly the stouts or porters called Black Gold by cairngorm and Black Galloway by Sulwath. If you can find these in your area give them a go.

Favourite Belgians (although there are hundreds that I have not tasted of course) are Orval, Chimay, Brugs, Westmalle and my favourite of all time is La Chouffe. I love the big wine bottle style with the gnomes on it. The effect of the beer is quite different from many to me - a very laid back, usually horizontal, anaesthetising drink! They do a few - the standard is a great white beer, very spicy. But McChouffe and N'ice are real crackers - up in the 8-10% bracket. N'Ice is a great winter warmer. I have a couple of Black Golds for tonight - looking forward to it already.

I like a Half and Half (Guinness and Harps). When I was in London I believe it was the Speckled Hen, and Strongbow I was hitting pretty hard. Had a Scottish beer called Skull Splitter, and it was just that. Along those lines. One I found, I think it was Belgian, was Navigator. Later the only thing I could navigate was my way to the floor.
