G'day all,
down under here is West Aussie we have a number of micro breweries, ie Bull Ant, Red Back, and more, nice variety of dark ales, though my preference is the Coopers Lager and Draught that I make at home from kits supplied by Coopers. Good rain water, and most of my home brew is at least 12 months old before I drink it. Home brew I reckon, needs at least 3 months aging.
Even my mates don't cringe when I bring out a few long necks after roping pracitice !!
Cheers all
Gordon Ps I had a few Millers from the USA last night and was pleasantly surprised.Keep yo hoss well shod an yo powdah dry !

Thanked: 0Hello,
I just thought I would chime in a bit. I just tried Delirium Tremens for the first time, and I honestly might never look at beer the same way again. I do have to say that I am sipping on a Sierra Nevada summerfest right now and loving it, though. I also just picked up a Dogfish Head Red and White that I am very excited about.

Aside from the regular stuff available around here (Bud, Miller, Shiner), my Dad and I enjoy a case of Newcastle Brown Ale or George Killian Irish Red.
There was the batch I made at home (Pale Ale) that we all loved but still waiting to find a shop/gear to upgrade some things before I do that again.

Thanked: 90Kolsch
For all you guys up here in the Pacific Northwest, Henry Weinhard's seasonal beers (which I think I may have mentioned on this very thread) are usually a great bargain compared to the more top-shelf micros out there. The Summer Ale is their newest release, it's a Kolsch, and a mighty tasty one at that. It's worth checking out.
Unfortunatly for all you IPA fans out there, they appear to have dropped their IPA from the line-up. It's a shame because it was a very good bargain. Some may scoff that there are better IPAs out there, but not at $9 for a twelve-pack.
They haved a Belgian style wheat beer that I haven't tried yet. I'll let you know when I do, though.

Dixie beer is being brewed up north until they fix the Dixie brewery. Blackened voodoo is some good stuff, as well as the Dixie Lager. Ive been to a bar across the street form The Brewery. Worst Neighborhood in New Orleans. Damn pitty and a shame about that brew house getting looted like that.

Thanked: 10so many choices....
This is going to be difficult. If I'm out for a few pints, Guinness is the beverage of choice. Some other favorites that also happen to be high alcohol are: Duvel, Petrus Flemish Sour, Delirium Nocturnum and Tremens, Roquefort(sp.) 10 and St. Bernardus ABT 12. All very delicious.
