I have been riding a little over 30 years now. I started with a Beneli 60 and progressed to a Suzuki DS100, Honda XR 250, Suzuki RM50, Honda Magna V45 750, Honda Aspencade 1200, and curently I am riding a Kawasaki Vulcan 500. I bought the Vulcan for my wife but after witnessing a fatal motercycle accident unfold in front of her chose not to ride again. It was a new bike so I sold the Goldwing and ride it for now. I am ready for a bigger bike again but for now the 500 will suffice.
Lots of stories over the years. My favorite ride up to date is the back mountain roads (Hwy 89/89A) from Phoenix to Flagstaff AZ. I have riden this road many times and never get bored.

Here is my street bike, a 1965 Triumph 650 TR6SC. The first year of unit construction Trumps, it started life as a purpose-built desert racer and was acquired as a chopper basket. It is the result of a quarter-century of development. Tons of custom work and totally rebuilt! I don't ride it around much here in the city. Very dangerous and I have the scars to prove it! It is bound in a trailer to Jefferson, Texas this weekend so I can carve some country roads and show it off as I attend Diamond Don's Vintage AHMRA Nationals, an annual Must-do!

Thanked: 884WOW!! That is delicious!! Good friend of mine is into that old Brit iron with LUCAS LORD OF DARKNESS and Whitworth spoken here etc etc. He just finished the third reincarnation of Beezer. First it was a BEAUTIFUL original bike. Then it was a kick ass chopper. Now it's BETTY CROCKER the kitchen made CAFE RACER! He built in his kitchen after his wife left him.
Rattlecan paint job and pretty much hand fabbed. I figure a year before he kills himself or gets tired of it and reincarnates into a gyro-copter or some such. For him it's the journey rather than the destination. I figure it will go to New Ulm this year too.

Dig those upside down Z-bars! Sweet! I can see why she left! My Trumph went thru the "clip on, rearset" period too. Great for haulin ass, but treacherous on real handling! (scars to prove that, too!). I have been to New Ulm several times as well. What a HOOT! Gonna make it, Wullie? Slide over to Jefferson! We could 'ave that drink!

Thanked: 884Wish I could but it ain't on the dance card. Never been to New Ulm, but my buddy Tom, the one that built that sled, has been several times. Maybe one of these days when the boy is out of school and making his own way, the wiff and I can slip off and have some fun.
Tom's wife left because he wouldn't stay out the bottle. He ain't worth shootin when he's drunk, and he was stayin some serious drunk for a lot years. His ex is a good gal. She got tired of his BS after 10 years. He dried out for a while. Haven't caught him drinkin in the last few months. I hope he stays off of it, BUT, I'm thinkin' he won't. I pray that he proves me wrong.

Yep! Responsibility is a bitch! Rewarding. Tho! If the joker flipped his handlingbars around, he would see things from a whole different perspective. I did! We really aint Cafe Racing, ya know! That is serious haulass stuff, in it's purest form! Kinda like the Jack! Gotta take care!
Tell Tom that Tom Said So!

I finally learned to ride while vacationing with family. Always been a Harley fan, and finally drove one. But I can't afford a bike right now, and I have nowhere to keep one anyway. Some day...
