I'll bet the M41 is a lot easier to field strip than my 22/45 MkIII!!! Even when following the instructions and watching a YouTube video on the procedure, I never dropped as many F-bombs as I did reassembling the pistol. It got easier with successive fieldstrips, but it is unnecessarily complex to reassemble.

None of those wheelguns has seen anything other than a target. I just like the challenge of shooting a magnum revolver accurately since we know the recoil from them wears the shooter down quickly, especially with that S&W 500. And going from 300g bullets on the 44 atop a max charge of H110, the 500 had less of a perceived kick than anticipated.

    The 41 is soooo simple.
Remove the magazine, pull the slide back till it locks, pull down the trigger guard, lift the barrel off. Its that quick.

Model 41 WITH a Leupold? Excellent combo. Those 41s are the best out there for .22 pistols.

Unless he's cocked, he's definitely empty!

I do love your Redhawk. I originally wanted the 5.5" model when I was looking 5plus years ago. But Rugers production of Redhawks is very spotty and I got frustrated after 3-4 months. So when I saw a NIB Super Redhawk at the medina gun show 5 years ago, I grabbed it. Took a while to get used to the aesthetics, but when looking down the sights, that's what looks the best.

My ruger 22 requires one to remove the mainspring making sure the firing pin is in the discharged position. You then slide the bolt out the back of the barrel. Once the bolt is clear, you use a nylon or rubber mallet to knock the barrel free from the grip frame. Reassembly is pretty much the reverse, but you have to make sure the hammer is not in the way and that a over on the mainspring is lined up properly. There is a metal rod on top of the mainspring that acts as the bolt stop. If that gets crooked, you've got a heck of a time removing it and trying again!

It's a great pistol (wish it were the MkII which has no mag disconnect) and is accurate because the bolt actually slides in the barrel tube. But darn, it is overly complicated. I quit fieldstripping it unless it was really filthy! And I used cleaner 22 ammo as well

Had the Mkll target model with fluted bull barrel. Gave it to my older brother because the smith is much better, and accurate

I'd be willing to bet your M41 has a superior trigger to my MkIII. That is indeed the weak link in the Ruger Mk pistols. Many people have done just a trigger replacement with an aftermarket piece like a Volquartsen and it became a tack driver. I'd still like to do that to mine...someday.

Quite light to the touch, but not hairy. I believe there's an adjustment screw behind the trigger, in the trigger guard. But I don't remember at the moment.
