Yep, last of the 15" powerbooks here 2005 I think ??? Gettin a bit long in the tooth for a computer . Oh nearly forgot got a iMac DV G3/400 too.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

It is a nice new toy--SRP looks good on it too! Still moving iTunes from my PC.
ShavedZombie: if you want to build a gaming PC, there are far more cost effective ways than Alienware--you could end up spending more than double what it would cost to build it yourself w/ parts from NewEgg. Or you could shop around for PC repair places (the small ones; not the giant corporate ones). You'll probably save a ton of money that way.

Thanked: 5I guess I'm the only one here who prefers PC's?
We do own a Mac though and I must say that they are great for those who aren't "computer-savvy" as they are EXTREMELY user friendly.
YMMV?

Thanked: 227I'm a code monkey and work forr myself so I use a winblows pc a linux pc and a mac, I must admit I prefer linux, but that's probably because I used linux before mac or windows. But I do prefer mac to windows.

I've got the Macbook Air. It's pretty sweet, but the hinge for the screen is a lot weaker than it ought to be. Now it tilts full 170 degrees!
As it turns out, the hinge is integral to the actual upper screen portion, and so requires a complete overhaul to replace. I stopped by the Apple store for a quote on the repair and it would cost $750! As if these things weren't expensive enough to begin with...

Any kind of desktop work is done on a mac here. Any servers are still linux though.
I really like the fact that I get a nice slick gui, but have the power of unix underneath, and then stuff like macports allows me to use stuff like mutt and irssi etc.
Windows 7 has played a nice hand of catchup, but its still windows...
BingoBango : didnt you have applecare? That would be fixed free of charge if you did.
