I saw this and had to throw my opinion out there. I am first and foremost a beer guy. Much like the affinity I have for str8s and shaving the art of beer is one that not too many take seriously. I am actually preparing to learn to brew my own beer and am quite excited! As far as the question at hand Leinenkugel has been a solid staple as of late. The sunset wheat has a fantastic blueberry aftertaste without being syrupy. My very favorite is Moose Drool from Big Sky Brewery in Montana. It's an amazing, nutty brown beer. Not too strong but enough that the beer afficianado will appreciate it. I also have recently tried the Double Arrogant Bastard Ale and was pleasantly surprised. I have been trying to go the route of smaller craft beers as they tend to be more thoughtful I you will. Whether that's just perception or actual quality, that is what I feel. Any beer though, like wine, cheese, or razors should be tried. You neve know what you'll come across that you fall in live with.

You know I was just thinking about this post and trying to recall all the fantastic beers and one that is very memorable came from the Chicago Brewing Company in Las Vegas (my home city) and it was a seasonal beer. Called the Christmas tree beer it was quite literally made from Christmas trees. It had the most wonderful aroma and a wonderful pine taste. It was very good and amazingly strong, they would only sell it in small amounts so as to not hurt anyone. The only problem is that I've only had it once as I've ne er seen it available again. We are vey lucky to have the only Hofbrauhaus outside of Munich. We get fresh brewed HB beer all the time. Served in 1 liter steins, this stuff in copius amounts (2 steins) will put you on your backside. Just make sure you wash it down with awesome brats and sauerkraut. But the oktoberfest limited brew is mind blowingly good. So when you visit please come in the late fall/early winter and taste both of them. You'll love them.

    Cheers

My favourite two beers are Hoegaarden and Leffe. Both are Belgian and they are absolutely divine... And far to easy to drink..!

    I also like Westons cider.

Yes I just recently did a 6 pack of it.... a couple of bottles at a sitting A co-worker told me about it and it is a very interesting beer. An unusual and distinctive flavor but a pleasing taste.

Thanks to all who have replied thus far. I've got a list to go with the next time I make it over to the exotic brew store.

Tiger beer from Singapore, also Stella Artois, Tennents lager, McCewans Export. Sometimes an occasional Singha when on holiday although I do find them a bit salty with the result I get through more of them than I should! And a good cold pint of Guinness in memory of my Father.

duvel, hoegaarden, leffe, Leinenkugels suset wheat, yuengling, magic hat #9, and pretty much anything from sam adams

if any of you are in NJ, look into a bar called Firewaters. They have something like 101 beers on tap, and another 50 or so bottled. Good times.

I just found my new favorite. It's by Howe Sound Brewing and is their Winter Ale. Their Nut Brown is also stellar, smoothest brown beer I have ever consumed.

The bottles are rather distinctive too. 1L with a flip top lid, so that you can reclose the bottle and not worry about the beer getting flat.
