I have been looking at bowls that are bent forward. Is it just for looks or do they smoke better that way?

Lovely pipes ! My first 2 Peterson s I recently reamed and cleaned and already found evidence of some burn out near the draft hole. A testament to my brutal smoking cadence early on . Im getting much better pacing my smokes. Until I figure out how to better care for my relatively cheap production pipes I dare not venture using such works of art.
