A little Castello KKK Sea Rock, I think it was my second Castello bought back around the mid 80's. All cleaned up and smoking like it did when it was first broken in, filled with Bayou Morning.

I do also and am not that concerned as it is held to the side, so wouldn't go down my throat. Maybe some damage to the teeth, but I'll continue to enjoy my pipe as I drive. What in life is not dangerous in some aspect or another.

I've yeat to visit those new shops but every now and then get few tins from the one that has been here in the city since 1926. Of what i've heard that same kind of evolution has been going on in few other cities here too.
The same dude who owns the local store also has a great pub next to it. One of the not too many places you can still smoke inside (nobody knows for how long).

The prices in those shops are little bit higher but that is ok with me. As Nosey said, they need to pay their rents too.
The selection with pipes or tobacco can't be as good as with online shops but you can find the typical Pete's, Stanwells, Chacoms, Lorenzos etc and some from independent makers from eastern Europe and Scandinavia. And the only Finnish pipe brand that is still left. The name is Tanner (named after our prime minister before the war and diligent pipe smoker too).
Tobacco they sell is sommon SG's, Petes, Capstans, Solanis, Rattrays, MacB's etc etc but i haven't seen bulk for years. As well as everything related to pipes they've always been into cigars and snuff. Nowadays also more and more with e-cigs.
For some reason the availability of decent pipe tobacco has improved some; even from the local markets, gas stations and grocery stores.

Still these days i usually get most of my tobaccos by ordering online, either from Baltic States or Poland. The prices are still dead cheap.

Beautiful Falcon with a great looking stem you have there.
I haven't got myself a new pipe for some years but recently made and exception and picked this from the local b&m. The price was decent. Have yet to try it some day soon.
It's Neerup. The maker behind the brand is Peder Jeppesen from Denmark.

I'll have to look up that Tanner when I get a chance. Nice Neerup, let us know how it smokes?I came close to buying one sometime back but italways was out of stock so I finally gave up.

However to smoke or not is up to everyones personal decision. Not up to lawmakers business.

Still i thinks that the 'room note' of pipe tobacco is much more pleasant than the one from cigarettes.
    I agree totally.

At my age...yes. Quite a few older folks assume your smoking pot, while the younger crowd for a large part looks down because its tobacco.

That being said I do occasionally get a good response. I typically will walk close around two miles on my lunch break, if the weather is nice I'll smoke a pipe once or twice a week. I has stopped to retie my shoe and was sitting on a bench when an older woman came and sat next to me (maybe 1-2 seconds after me).

I don't think she'd been there for five seconds when she asked "what's that". I apologized for the smell telling her it was just tobacco and I'd be on my way just as soon as I'd finished. She didn't respond and just sat there until I got up to continue my walk. That's when she asked if I'd "stay for just a minute longer".

She went on to tell me how her late husband has been a pipe smoker from his teenage years till his death and that Prince Albert had been his go to. I hadn't told her that's what I was smoking, she'd picked up on the smell. To keep this from being any longer, we ended up going to lunch at one of the local diners that allows smoking at their outdoor seating and she spent the whole time telling me stories about her husband and their life together. From time to time we see each other on the street and we always wave and chat for a minute if we can.

With me it's at my age people are probably wondering if I'm smoking pot and the other half are wishing I would burn in Hades for smoking, especially the joggers who think they own the airspace.......Fickled !!!

The discussion of B&M shops got me thinking about all the vape shops I saw last time I was in the UK. I didn't like the look of any of them, but the worst looked really sleazy and rather reminiscent of the worst aspects of Las Vegas as it's portrayed in films. The tobacconist in Stavanger that I sometimes go to looks a little shady, but only because they can't display any tobacco products so the windows have to be covered. Gives the place a bit of an "adult" look.
