Managed a couple of pipes of Dunhill 965 in my Lorenzo Gran Canadian today.

The weatherman had promised us a huge storm coming this evening, and people in the north really got about 10 cm of snow (about 2 weeks before summer solstice and nightless night )
However not much storm worth mentioning here, at least yet.

I don't know a great deal to be honest, but the UK sites I usually order from can no longer accept orders from outside the UK. Something like they can't export to EU or EEA countries. Norway's EEA so I'm unlucky there. The thing I find weird is that most men I know own a pipe, but the choice of tobaccos is pretty poor compared to England where no one I know owns a pipe.

Just been doing a little research and it's to do with proving the age of the purchaser. The companies would need an age verification system based on electoral registers or credit systems, and license in every country they ship to or face unlimited fines and up to two years in jail if they breach the laws. It makes it harder for underage kids to buy cigarettes online, but also way too much hassle for small companies to ship to their one customer in Norway. I'm looking forward to stocking up when I visit friends in the UK next month.

I am sorry to hear about the hassles....makes sense I suppose but still . Happy future smoking to you and may your tin always be full !

It is still possible to order British tobacco from say Germany and other union countries. Might be even cheaper than in UK.

EU is actually quite liberal with the laws concerning tobacco. However what went wrong is that it allows member states to make laws that can be much more strict, thus limiting the rights of it's own citizen. As Norway is not a union member i do not know about laws you have there. It's been years since i visited there, guess a lot has changed ever since.
We have no problems ordering from other union countries, our customs really are not interested but they watch very pedantic what comes from outside union.

We currently have pretty decent selection of tobaccos at the local b&m stores and markets. Petes, Gawiths, Rattrays, Solanis, McB's etc and occasionally some minor brands too. So i've been trying to support local shops even if it costs 1-2 coins more. As said, ordering from other EU countries is no problem. Spain is dead cheap. However, i haven't ordered from mail for several years. I visit Estonia at least 3-4 times a year, occasionally Poland too. Selections are great so i've been getting all the other tobacco brands i need into my cellar to last for, eh at least long enough. Will be going to Estonia again within a month as we rented a summer house on the west coast for few weeks.

Great book and interesting piece of history (and not a word about tobacco or pipes). It's about Torpedo Boats of the British Royal Navy, led by capt Augustus Agar. Operated from Finland attacking red fleet. At June 17.1919 they sunk the Bogatyr-class cruiser Oleg and later attacked Kronstadt naval stronghold trying to destroy it's harbour.
