Things are finally starting to slow down after switching full time jobs. For a while I was happy to get in two bowls a week. Thankfully I had some time yesterday to get to the range to test out a build I just finished. Even had enough time to get some time with the carry and enjoy a nice bowl of EMP in a Missouri Meerschaum.

Brewin' some beer, smokin' my pipe. Decided the 5 gal batch i did Friday wasn't quite enough. 3 gal all grain IPA in the pot. Aperitif in the Grabow. This tobacco is superb!

Some Mountain Camp in a Castello Collection Fiammata. Did a detailed strip and clean on my Wilson Stealth. Just need to finish it up.

I look at all the pipes on display in this tread and sometime think about taking up the hobby again. I have seen many beautiful old pipes in the antique store around here.

OJK in a cob and black coffee to start the day. Attended a local Memorial Day event and had a two cigar afternoon.

I really like seeing a 1911 taken all the way down. Single sided safety? If so very nice. Also it appears to be a series 70 style. Am I correct?

Yes to both, Wilson does not make one with a firing pin block. With the exception of a 5" Raptor (that is for sale to make room for a 5" Wilson) all of my 1911's are series 70's.

Took my Les Baer PII out to the range this morning and fired 200-rounds. 100 slow fire for accuracy at 50' and 100 fast fired at multiple targets at 10-yards.

To stay on track, Castello Natural Vergin with C & D Mountain Camp, a very smokey Latakia.

Cleaned, repinned and honed a straight razor for my neighbor today.

Then enjoyed Haddo's Delight in my estate Velani Collection Privee. 2nd time with Haddo's and I enjoy it, slightly sweet and level smoking and mild in strength. Pre-light draw flavors remind me of my wife's dried cranberry scones while they are baking.

    It was a good day.
