Thanked: 1160Well, I bought another Peterson. This one is their model 999 Rhodesian Dublin Edition. His Brother is the 80 s bulldog . Both are excellent smokers and I finally got my itch scratched about wanting and all black sandblasted pipe.

Thanked: 36So I just ordered a tin of gawith hoggarth's dark birdseye. I'm hoping it's fairly close to their dark flake, especially for the price i paid. 305 NOK, which is something like $38 or £28.50 for a 50g tin. Not the worst prices though, I've seen cabbie's mixture at the equivalent of $56 a tin. Norway's not the place to buy tobacco.

Thanked: 36My tin of dark birdseye arrived. It's an ok substitute for dark flake, but not a great one. Very strong, it's a long time since I got niccups, but it doesn't have the same deep earthy flavour. I've seen it described as one dimensional and I kind of agree. Has a kind of general tobacco flavour with the faintest hint of that lakeland flowery thing. Nice and smooth though, no biting back at all. I still prefer dark flake though.
