Peterson Connoisseur's Choice in a Kaywoodie Flame Grain (99)

The tobacco barge docked at Casa GI just this afternoon. I decided to try new stuff (since my EMP venture turned out so well). Although, I'm just past charring light on this smoke, what I can say so far is...yup, it's an aromatic. More than that it is too early to tell. But I will say that what few aromatics I do keep around, usually last forever as they do tend to be "mood" tobaccos.

My other Peterson blend in this shipment was Irish Flake. From the reviews this one is right up my alley and was really a no brainer. Full flavored burley with a remarkable vitamin N hit. I haven't even set fire to any yet and I already like it. My friends at smokingpipes.com also hooked me up with some free stuff. A sample of MacBaren Highland Blend and four of the little rubber pipe bits which I kinda like as I tend to dangle pipes in my mouth as opposed to holding them. These rubber bits save wear and tear on the bits as well as my fangs. I'm diggin it.

Peterson Irish Flake in a 5132C (pre-1938) Kaywoodie Super Grain

All I can manage on this one is WOW! This is some full bodied stuff. This must have been what train stations smelled like a hundred and fifty years ago. And what a wollop!! Even in a relatively small bowl this stuff this stuff was provided the vitamin N jackboot to the mush. It's not even close to harsh but is some seriously strong burley with a little of a dark chocolate/molasses undertone. Definitely an after dinner tobacco. My arms began to feel heavy and I could feel my pulse in the back of my neck after about half a bowl. This will definitely require more investigation. Definitely not one to power puff or inhale. This definitely ranks up their with the strongest tobaccos I've smoked to date (i.e. 1792, Five Brothers, various ropes, etc.) It's certainly strong enough and packs all the vitamin N a growing boy needs. I like it! I'll try it tomorrow as a slow sipper on the way to work. I should be good to go nicotine wise until at least lunch time.
