Thanked: 203Hey Mick,
my Grandfather usually went with Amphora brown, so i naturally began with that when he introduced me to pipes as a teenager. These days i tend to go for the cherry cavendish type tobacco. Anyhoo, if the pipe shop is good i'd love to hear where it is. i haven't bought a new one in about 15 years.
Adam
Respectfully,
Adam.

Thanked: 983G'day Adam, the pipe shop wasn't there due to refurb at the 'Wintergarden' (As far as I know, it just may no longer be there) There is another that was closed when I went to have a look that day, but from what I could see thay didn't have anything of a real worth. There is a place at Redcliffe, the 'Free Choice' tobaccanist, that should be able to get something in for you. It seems most people are only stocking cheap chinese made pipes or Falcon pipes. You could ask at the place in Redcliffe if you can get in before 10AM, when the lady that runs the show is there. She is supposed to be the one to talk to about pipes.
Now since I mentioned cheap chinese pipes, here is a photo of my most recent acquisition. An AZTEC pipe on the smaller side of things. I've been on the hunt for a small briar to rplace my other cheap chinese briar that served me well for a number of years. I've started breaking this one in over the weekend, and it doesn't seem too bad at all. And as a matter of preference, I usually smoke Cherry Cav myself.

Thanked: 1185C&D Haunted Bookshop in a Kaywoodie Mandarin
I'm sitting here thinking that it has been an awfully long time since I truly kicked in some real old school American pipe smoking. I think a 14 ounce tub of some serious Codger Burley is in my future. Although Prince Albert is the clear front runner, I've promised myself for ages I would try some Granger so yeah, Granger will probably get the nod. It just doesn't get any more codger than this
The older I get, the better I was
