Up early.Going to take a homemade and a my boswell shot pipe with me today.head to the field and going to hunt some wabbits.

Granger in a Whitehall Grand National. As far as I can tell this blend entered the market in the 1920s and was widely endorsed by several prominant athletes in the 30's and 40's. This was my first sampling of Granger but having ran the bases in the American Codger Burley genre for years this was really no surprise. While it's a bit fuller than Prince Albert or Carter Hall, and not quite as sweet Half and Half, the smoking characteristics are pretty similar. No bite, slow burning kind of plain but at the same time quite delicious and enjoyable. These blends come from a time when many men smoked pipes all day long and needed blends with good smoking manners that they could easily smoke 5 or 6 bowls a day without the threat of "cat tongue". Codger burlies are designed to operate in the background, to be smoked almost unconsciously while doing something else or simply relaxing. Like the rest of the genre, it was absolutely the bomb with a cup of coffee in the morning. I think I'll be smoking a good bit of this stuff.

Riverboat Gambler is a fine smoke. Indeed some of my old buddy Bob Runowski's best work. Enjoy!

Looks like a chocolate brownie...smells the same. Rich, strong, delightful in a Porsche pipe - Cob Plug!

I wish my pete system still looked as pretty as yours. I'm a bit neglectful of my poor pipes. I have every intention of making them all beautiful again, I just have to find the time.
